This uniquely sophisticated MW antenna combines several characteristics:
two frequency antenna transmitting 747 kHz and 1008 kHz with maximum power of 600 kW each,
directional antenna with two masts providing horizontal patterns, which take into account the shape and the ground conductivities of the Netherlands,
antifading antenna, i. e. the effective length is 5/8 l for both frequencies and both masts are fed in the height of 90 m, where each mast is intersected by an insulator. This design enables maximum achievable ground wave field strengths. This is due to little side lobes and deep nulls in the vertical pattern. The fading zone is shifted to the maximum distance possible from the antenna site,
completely statically grounded antenna, i. e. - 1. each mast is grounded (no base insulator), - 2. the lower cage of the mast is statically grounded by a coil, - 3. the guy ropes with two insulators only, each is also statically grounded by coils. These coils are tuned to values, which reduce the current on the guys having practically no influence on the total current distribution of the antenna.
