Base insulated outer mast to realize a base impedance.

The design of the horizontal cross dipole antenna takes into account that vertical radiation should be avoided as best as possible to minimize distortions in the vicinity of the antenna. Complaints in the neighbouring villages stopped after using this antenna. Although the polarisation of the antenna is horizontal the vertical supporting mast are induced radiating vertically polarized.

Insulated suspension of the inner conductor at the mast. The inner conductor is grounded at the base to the earth net, then led by a pole and finally it enters the lattice structure.

In order to reduce this vertical polarisation to a minmum the masts are base insulated for inserting a reactance in series between mast and ground.
The appropriate reductance reduces the vertical radition to a minimum. The reactance is realized by a short circuited coaxial line represented by the mast as outer conductor and the vertical rope in the centre of the mast as inner conductor.
The photos show the realization of this design. The coaxial line starts at the ground. The inner conductor is connected to the earth net.
