Directional pattern:
When feeding five cage ropes as one radiator and one cage rope as the second radiator with different amplitudes and phases the directional pattern as seen below can be obtained. The sixth seperately fed cage rope is actually a flat cage consisting of four ropes.
Omnidirectional pattern:
The omnidirectional pattern is obtained when only the five cage ropes are fed.
The design of the antenna had to meet the requirement that it should be possible to radiate simultaneously the frequency 1593 kHz. It had an impact on dimensioning the insulators. But this option was not realized.
