MW antenna Britz -  cross dipole
Historical:

The cross dipole in Berlin- Britz was shut down after the reunification of Gemany. Later it was dismantled.

The height of the cross dipole was 0,1 lambda, because this design leads to a vertical pattern which was an optimum for the coverage of the former German Democratic Republic (GDR).

An article about cross dipoles see below.
More cross dipoles are operating in

                     Arganda                                   and                      Mainflingen.

An article about cross dipoles in "Radio World":

Three masts of five of the cross dipole antenna
On the left the feeding points of the dipoles at the top of the mast.
The two feeding cables connecting the dipoles with the antenna tuning elements.
In addition to the two feeding cables two more cables are suspended vertically to ground.
Each of the two additional cables which are suspended vertically to ground and the mast are forming an electrical line with a variable short circuit. This represents an reactance which is parallel to the antenna impedance.
It is a tuning element for obtaining an antenna impedance of 60 ohms which corresponds to the characteristic impedance ot the feeding cable.

At the same time the symmetry between the symmetric dipole and the unsymmetric cable is realized.
