The guy insulation
Resistors in paralell to the guy insulators can be seen. It is for grounding the guys electrostatically. This protects the guy insulators against flash overs during thunderstorms when additional electrostatic voltages occur across the insulators without having these resistors.
On the photo above one of the fixations of the resistor to the guy is broken, which is caused usually by dynamic mechanical forces (wind). Such a resistor is missing on the left photo.
The original design of the electrostatically grounded guys doesn't work properly anymore. The situation on the guy insulation is a little bit critical for increasing the power from 5 to 10 kW.
